The EAASM held a lunch debate in the European Parliament entitled “Managing healthcare costs: can patient safety be traded-off?”

The event addressed several issues of patient safety in the light of budget constraints in the healthcare sector during a discussion with the Members of the European Parliament and representatives of Pan-European organisations. It attracted over 25 people including a senior representative from DG Santé, MEPs, and their advisors, patient groups, the Industry trade sector.

The ​Falsified Medicines Directive's Common Logo promises to be a major step forward in the security of selling medicines at a distance and online. ASOP EU and its sister organisation's​, ASOP Global​ and CSIP​,​ will be fully supporting this initiative. To mark the launch of this support and the publication of ​ASOP EU​ position paper, ASOP ​Global​, ASOP EU and CSIP have a series of planned meeting with DG SANTE, Health Attaches ​of EU Member States​ and  directly with​ Member State ​officials ​who are ​responsible for the implementation of the Common Logo. These discussions are aptly timed, as the Common Logo must be implemented by July 2015.
