EUROPOL launches a campaign for public awareness and prevention of online counterfeiting. The campaign gives insights into the most commonly affected sectors, the risks that come along with buying counterfeits and strategies on how to detect fraudulent websites. 

According to a series of studies carried out by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), 83 billion Euros and 790 000 jobs are lost every year across the EU due to counterfeiting and piracy.

A public awareness raising campaign has been launched which is aimed at young adults warning of the dangers of buying dodgy diet pills online.
